Retro Tech Foundation Museum - 76 Westbury Park Rd #101e, Watertown, CT 06795
After opening by appointment this spring, we're throwing the doors open. Join us on Saturday, November 14 from 12 PM to 4 PM for a free open house. Admission is free, but please RSVP below so we have enough food!
In 1975, Liza Loop opened one of the first public-access computer centers and brought her passion for computer education to the Homebrew Computer Club. When Steve Wozniak visited her LO*OP Center, he gave her an Apple-1 for her students.
She went on to launch ComputerTown USA!, bringing computers into libraries and community spaces, and today she preserves the history of computing in education through her HCLE project.
Hear her story at 1:45 PM in a fireside chat with museum co-founder Jacob Komar, then meet Liza and her Apple-1.
The Timeline - walk chronologically through nearly five decades of Apple, from the Apple-1 era to the modern Mac, with working machines you can actually use.
The Garage - a full-scale recreation of the Crist Drive garage where the first Apple-1 boards were assembled in 1976, built with guidance from Daniel Kottke.
The 90s Bedroom - the setup you (or your older sibling) had, right down to the dial-up.
The Collection - behind the exhibits sits one of the most complete Apple collections anywhere: more than 1,500 artifacts, and the archive is open to visitors.
Free parking on site. Questions: info@retrotechfoundation.org
